Madison
(As told by her mother)
September 22 started out just like any another day. Madison got ready for school and took the bus as usual. That night we did homework and ate dinner. Little did I know her body was fighting to work. Afterwards, she went to take her shower, sat down on the bathroom floor and has not been able to stand on her own since without being in a stander.
After spending hours in the hospital we were told she has what’s called Transverse Myelitis. Never would I have thought my daughter wouldn’t be able to walk or use the restroom on her own. Although this child has been though a so much, we still have a long road ahead. And through it all she hasn’t let it get her down. She is one of the happiest kids.
She has made some great friends and has found new things she loves to do. She is an amazing kid. I’m so blessed to call her my daughter. I will never forget this September 22. The day our lives changed forever.
As if she didn't have enough to worry about, an MRI has shown a growing cyst on the brain. More doctors. But Madison is tough. Her response was, it's okay, I've come this far." She truly is amazing.
